Position: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller or Accounting Manager
Location: Miami, Florida (Hybrid)
Salary: 65k-75K
Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and contributing to overall financial integrity and compliance. The ideal candidate is reliable, analytical, and eager to grow within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Support the preparation of financial reports and internal statements
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Assist with audit preparations and respond to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and smooth operations
- Identify and help implement process improvements within the accounting function
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information at all times
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or mid-sized company environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
